Surya Pharma launches herbal drug for asthma 'Bronco-T' in Hyderabad
Surya Pharmaceuticals of Varanasi, pioneers in the manufacture of specialised herbal medicines, has launched in Hyderabad its anti-asthmatic and anti-allergic product, brand-named Bronco-T, in the form of tea powder and syrup. The product, a scientifically validated drug to work on respiratory disorders, was launched by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at Biotech Invest-2003 on Friday.
The time tested, clinically tried and licensed product, had been in use in the North since 1983 and also approved by US-FDA.
Giving details of the drug at a press conference, Dr Vachaspati Tripathi, Managing Director, Surya Pharmaceuticals, and Prof. Reddanna, Head of Department, Animal Sciences, University of Hyderabad, said Bronco-T, a dietary supplement, was made up of ingredients taken up from ancient Ayurvedic scriptures. It proved to be quite effective in preventing bronchial asthma, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, eczema and other allergic disorders. Bronco-T has been released in the form of tea powder and syrup and can be consumed easily.
Bronco-T is critically and scientifically validated through laboratory testing in the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Hyderabad under the supervision of Prof. Reddanna. According to Prof. Reddanna, the drug had shown to inhibit the activity of the enzyme and blocked subsequent production of Leukotrienes, resulting in the prevention of bronchial asthma.
According to Dr Tripathi, commonly used allopathic medicines, usually corticosteroids, upon prolonged usage result in osteoporosis, obesity and immunity disorders. As Broco-T is strictly developed from herbal ingredients, it does not have any side-effects. Moreover, it strengthens the body's immune system.
Dr Tripathi anticipated that Broco-T would have a good market in this part of the country. It was already enjoying a good market in the North and abroad. The drug is being exported to USA, Italy, Holland, Canada, Poland and England. The drug will be marketed in Hyderabad by Jeevan Remedies, a herbal pharmaceutical company in the city.
