Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Association for Promotion of DNA Fingerprinting and other DNA Technologies (ADNAT) and Indian Society of Human Genetics (ISHG) are jointly organizing a symposium on "Molecular Medicine and Health" from 20-23, February 2005.
Molecular Medicine is an emerging field that exploits advances in molecular and cellular biology to characterize how normal cellular processes either fail or are subverted in disease conditions. This Symposium aims to bring clinicians, geneticists, biologists, statisticians, anthropologists and population geneticists on to a common platform and discuss ongoing research in the area of Molecular Medicine and its implications in Human Health and to provide future directions.
Dr Lalji Singh, director, CCMB and president ADNAT, ISHG will deliver the presidential address and Dr NK Ganguly, director-general, Indian Council of Medical Research will deliver the keynote address on 'Stem Cell Research: Indian and Global Scenario during the inaugural session.'
In addition, the Symposium is covering a wide variety of topics on Human Genome at a Molecular Level to Ethical and Legal Aspects of Molecular Medicine. Several distinguished scientists from USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada and India are participating as invited speakers and sharing their knowledge and experience, officials informed.
