The Department of Pharmacology and Environmental Toxicology of the Dr ALM Postgraduate Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Madras University conducted a one-day symposium in Chennai on 'Neurochemistry and Drug Addiction'.

Organized under the aegis of the Society for Neurochemistry, Chennai, the programme was attended by experts like Alfreda Stadlin of Chinese University, Hong Kong, K Sekhar, director, Defence Research and Development Establishment, Gwalior, R Subba Rao, Emeritus Professor, ICMR Advanced Centre for Research on Aging and Brain, S L Maheswari, Organizing secretary of the symposium, R Dhananjayan, head of the department of Pharmacology and Environmental Toxicology of the Institute etc.
