Teleradiology Solutions Pvt Ltd has collaborated with National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME), New Delhi, India to offer its online radiology education to post graduate radiology graduates across the country through its flagship e-learning portal www.radguru.net.

In a unique 3 location cyber event, Dr Arjun Kalyanpur, chief radiologist and co- founder of Teleradiology Solutions who provided a walkthrough of the portal highlighted the critical shortages of radiologists in the country where there are only 10,000 radiologists for a population of over a billion, necessitating technology innovations such as teleradiology and e-learning.

Radguru.net is a comprehensive and collaborative learning platform with live case discussions, quizzes and an archive of interesting cases reviewed and guest lectures conducted by eminent national and international faculty from institutions such as Yale, UMass, Baylor, Harvard etc. Registration is free on their site.

Information technology which is one of our strengths in Bengaluru, plays a major role in extending the reach of radiology education, he said. The Radguru portal already has over 188 recorded lectures and tutorials in the radiology domain, as well as quizzes and case presentations. The goal of the portal is to make e-learning interactive and stimulating for radiology residents. The tie-up with the National Board of Examiners allows over 800 postgraduate students in radiology and allow them to obtain high quality training from Radguru's domestic and international faculty, added Dr. Kalyanpur.

Dr Bipin Batra, executive director, National Board of Examinations inaugurated the portal via a virtual ribbon cutting. He took this occasion to highlight the initiatives of the NBME in promoting subspecialty medical education in the country.

Prof Sneh Bhargava, an eminent radiologist and former director of AIIMS, New Delhi in her key note address on ‘Creating the Radiologists of the Future’ indicated that the learning platform in medical education was a boon to meet the rising gap in healthcare education across the country and would supplement the medical colleges skilling in the private and public sector.
