Coinciding with 10th anniversary of Telstar’s production plant in China, the company has given an activity boost to its subsidiary, which will now manufacture lyophilizer loading and unloading systems for its clients located in the Asia-Pacific region. Telstar’s plant in China has begun to directly handle management of projects for freeze-drying technologies to better respond to the high potential of the pharma market in Asia-Pacific region and to provide local high quality support to customers.

Telstar, part of the azbil Group, develops global high-tech solutions in design, engineering, construction and manufacturing processes with automation technologies for the international life sciences markets. The Telstar brand is now represented in Asia-Pacific region by three specialised production plants and engineering centres in China, Bangladesh and India.

Telstar, which began activities in China in the early 90s through exports, has been present in China since 1998 and the company has been consolidating its presence in the region throughout the ten years it has operated as a WOFE (Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise). The company has a 4,500-m2 production plant located in the district of Nanhui, in Shanghai, which is highly specialized in the design and manufacture of processing equipment. The factory provides support for the development of equipment and integrated process solutions for the international life sciences market and particularly for the Asia-Pacific region’s pharmaceutical sector.

The company in China has been continually expanding its resources to support equipment projects and after sales services. From 2009, Telstar’s production plant in China has increased its activities and has gradually incorporated the manufacture of new types of equipment and the development of services for laboratory and pharmaceutical applications. Following extensive international experience in the services field, the subsidiary of Telstar in China now directly handles the complete process of project management of equipment manufactured in China with its own professional staff, in coordination with Azbil’s subsidiaries in China, Indonesia and Singapore for industries located in Asian countries. For large or highly complex integrated projects, Telstar follows a multi-plant management model, in close collaboration with its technology centres around the world.
