Chennai is holding a three-day meeting of urologists from different parts of the country, as part of the annual workshop conducted by the South Zone Urological Society of India (SZ – USICON).

Held at the Taj Connemara Hotel from July11 to 13, 2003, over 400 eminent urology specialists from different parts of the country will attend the meet, said Dr.B.P.Sivaraman of Department of Urology, Madras Medical College.

The 14th annual conference of SZ – USICON will have interactive video presentations on over 125 topics related to both male and female urological problems, including case studies and discussions on latest development in the field. Since laparoscopy has become the buzzword in modern surgical procedures, special emphasis is given to highlight technological advancements in that area, said Dr.Sivaraman, who has performed over 600 cases of complicated urological surgeries.

The meet will also stress on the importance of a doctor documenting each and every case from day one with follow-ups so that there is enough evidence to analyze the progress of the treatment and surgical care.

The Madras Urological Society and Madras Medical College jointly organize the workshop and meeting.
