Dr. S P Adeshera, commissioner, Gujarat FDA, Dr BR Jugashetty, Karnataka deputy drugs controller and SW Deshpande, joint commissioner, Maharashtra FDA were honoured at the 57th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress for their meritorious service to the pharma industry.
Konejeti Rosaiah, Andhra Pradesh minister for finance, health and family welfare presented the awards at the IPC inaugural ceremony.
Dr. S P Adeshera was presented the NL Shroff Memorial Award, Dr BR Jugashetty received the Best Drugs Control Officer Award and the KC Chatterjee Memorial Award was given to SW Deshpande.
Dr. PN Naik was honoured with the Eminent Pharmacist Award. The IPA Khurana Memorial Award was presented to Dr. Sarabjeet Singh and the BV Patel Memorial Award was given to Prof Ramamurthy. Nirajaana Dattareya, Amit Roy and Prof. Shantanu Kale won the BV Patel Memorial essay competition.
The GP Srivatsava award sponsored by the APTI with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 was bagged by Dr. Saha of the Jadavpur University, Kolkata. The ML Shroff Memorial Award for the meritorious B Pharm graduate was given to Kavya Rakra of BITS Pilani. S Jnani of Sri Ramachandra Medical and Research Institute, Chennai received ML Khurana Memorial Award for the best B Pharm graduate at the national level. K K Acharaya Memorial Award for the highest marks in B Pharm went to Nunkela Nanavati, KK College of Polytechnic, Vijayawada.
Under the Indian Pharmaceutical Association of Andhra Pradesh Foundation Inc., a series of prizes were given to the students from various universities.
