Thyrocare Technologies net up by 63% in Q4, dvidend at 50%

Thyrocare Technologies, an Rs. 350 crore plus zero-debt leading automated clinical chemistry laboratory, has registered consolidated net profit growth of 63.1 per cent during the fourth quarter ended March 2018 to Rs. 25.13 crore from Rs. 15.40 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its net sales improved by 11 per cent to Rs. 96.66 crore from Rs. 87.11 crore.

The board of directors has recommended equity dividend of 50 per cent for the year 2017-18. Further, the Board also approved granting of stock options to the eligible employees of the company for the year 2017-18. The board also approved giving a loan up to Rs. 100 crore over the period to the wholly owned subsidiary, Nuclear Healthcare Ltd, for their business expansion. The company's scrip improved by Rs. 8.80 to Rs. 678.70 from its previous day's close of Rs. 669.90 on BSE.

The company's other income increased to Rs. 10.88 crore from Rs. 2.16 crore as it transferred the water testing division on January 31, 2018, on a slump sale basis and the profit aggregating to Rs. 7.97 crore has been disclosed under other income for the fourth quarter. Further, the company acquired 30 per cent stake in Equinox Labs Pvt Ltd during January 2018 for an investment of Rs. 20 crores.

For the full year ended March 2018, Thyrocare's consolidated net sales increased by 17.1 per cent to Rs. 356.32 crore from Rs. 304.39 crore in the previous year. Its other income moved up by 87.9 per cent to Rs.23 crore from Rs. 12.24 crore. The net profit went up sharply by 118 per cent to Rs. 93.28 crore from Rs. 42.85 crore. EPS worked out to Rs. 17.39 as against Rs. 7.99 in the last year.

The sales from diagnostic testing services improved by 16.1 per cent to Rs. 328.95 crore from Rs. 283.23 crore in the previous year and that of imaging services improved by 33.2 per cent to Rs. 24.52 crore from Rs. 18.41 crore.
