TLPL setting up new nutraceutical division in northern region

The Pune based pharma company Twilight Litaka Pharma Ltd (TLPL) is set to launch operations of its 'Nutraceutical Division' in North India by October 2007. The company has presence in southern, eastern and western parts of the country. It has invested Rs 2 crore for setting up this division. It is planning to set up marketing team at Delhi with more than 50 executive in the next calendar year.

Speaking with Pharmabiz, Pankaj, K Undwar, general manager, said, "We have invested close to Rs two crore for setting up Nutra division in all over India. We will set up our Nutra division in the northern region also by the end of October 2007. From the business point of view we are targeting Rs five crore from the same division in the current fiscal".

The company has entered into one of the fastest growing segment namely nutraceutical with an exclusive division focused on nutritional therapy. The current strength of the manpower at Nutra division is 100. At present company has around 14 nutraceutical brands like protein, vitamins, minerals, coenzyme Q 10; curcuminoids etc and around 20 more new products are in the pipeline. The division's foremost brand is "Calm Cream", a nutritional supplement for skin useful in treatment of psoriases and eczema. The focus of this division is to introduce multi vitamin combinations uniquely formulated for best results. This division caters to the adjuvant and support therapy segments.

Recently, company has invested Rs 15 crore for setting up new manufacturing unit for tablet, capsules and liquids in Baddi at Himachal Pradesh. The company is expanding its market outreach in the domestic market.

While talking about company's expansion plan, Undwar said, "We are also in talks with "Art of Life" a Russian company for manufacturing their products in India. Our Board is positively working on the Sikkim tax holiday scheme. The Sikkim plan is considers as a future expansion plan. But at present nothing has been finalised. We are aggressively working on it."
