The Chinese pharma machinery major, Shanghai Tofflon Science & Technology Company (Tofflon), is planning to set up a customer facilitation centre in India. The company, which is an established player in the freeze dryers segment, is now stepping into international markets. The Indian customer service facility is part of this international brand establishment plan.

Tofflon has already built references in Europe, South and South East Asia and Africa. In order to strengthen its core competence, the company is making important investments for advanced innovation, facility expansion and joint ventures with top quality companies in the international markets making the company a respectable brand not only in China but also in the world, said Steven Zhou, sales and technical official from Tofflon, while talking to Pharmabiz in Mumbai recently.

The company has now set its target on India as an expanding market in South East Asia, Zhou added. The company has already sold three lyophilizers (freeze dryers) in India and there are few more orders in the execution stage.

Freeze dryers are widely applied in the fields of bio products like vaccines, blood plasma manufacturing, antibiotics, herbs nutritional products and also animal drugs. "Most of the lyophilizers supplied for the Indian industry are custom made and the service assistance would require specified expertise. So, it would be advantageous to the clients to have direct access to the company engineers locally and we are committed to provide the same," said Zhou.
