Unichem Laboratories, a Mumbai based Rs 680 crore plus pharma giant, has maintained its bottom line at almost same level at Rs 33.34 crore during the first quarter ended June 2010 as against Rs 32.39 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The company's net sales increased by 11.2 per cent to Rs 186.45 crore from Rs 167.61 crore. The earnings per share worked out to Rs 9.25 as compared to Rs 8.98 crore in the last period.

The company's sales in domestic market touched to Rs 154.16 crore as against Rs 139.03 crore and that in international market increased to Rs 33.33 crore from Rs 30.30 crore.

Meanwhile, Unichem Board has approved the proposal to sub-divide the nominal value of the equity shares of the company from Rs 5/- each to the nominal value of Rs 2 each, subject to the approval of the members at the annual general meeting (AGM) of the company to be held on September 16, 2010.
