Unichem Laboratories, a Rs.1,000 crore pharma company from Mumbai, has posted small growth in standalone net profit of 3.3 per cent during the second quarter ended September 2013 to Rs.36.21 crore from Rs.35.07 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its net sales also remained under pressure and moved up only by 1.9 per cent to Rs,. 266.19 crore from Rs.261.17 crore. EBDITA increased by 5.1 per cent to Rs.57.92 crore from Rs.55.12 crore. EPS worked out to Rs.4 as compared to Rs.3.88 in the last period.
For the first half ended September 2013, Unichem's net profit improved by 6 per cent to Rs.72.31 crore from Rs.68.22 crore in the similar period of last year. Its net sales remained almost stagnant at Rs.528.39 crore from Rs.524.47 crore. Its domestic sales improved by 2.3 per cent to Rs.361.94 crore during the first half from Rs.353.68 crore in the same period of last year. However, its international sales declined by 1.3 per cent to Rs.173.21 crore from Rs.175.43 crore.
