US-India Biopharma, Healthcare Summit on May 14 at Massachusetts

The USA-India Chamber of Commerce is organising 'US-India Biopharma & Healthcare Summit 2009' on May 14, 2009 at President's Ballroom, Hyatt Regency, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Experts in the field of pharma like Dr. Martin Mackay, president global R&D, Pfizer, Jeff Elton, sr. vice president and global COO, Novartis Institutes of Biomedical Research, Hari Bhartiya, co-chairman & managing director, Jubilant Organosys, Dr. Naresh Trehan, chairman, Medicity (Global Health Pvt. Ltd), etc are expected to participate in the one-day summit.

The keynote address will be delivered on the theme 'Policy Makers and Industry Leaders' and Discussions will be held with Nobel Laureate Prof. Sydney Altman. There will be panel discussions on 'Drug Discovery, Development, Clinical Research, In/Out Licensing, Industry-Academic Partnerships and Regulatory Issues', 'Funding Innovation, Cross Border Investments, Investment Opportunities and M&A trends in the US-India Bio Pharma & Healthcare industry' and 'Healthcare Opportunities and Challenges'.

The USA-India Chamber of Commerce mission is to provide a pro-active and professional platform for senior business executives, industry associations and high ranking government officials in the United States and India to network, facilitate and promote trade, investments & economic cooperation. USAIC's four point agenda is: Trade, Investment, Policy and Advocacy.

The summit is supported by Department of Biotechnology and Ministry of Science & Technology.

Meanwhile, Pharmexcil is considering to take a delegation to the summit. It has sought the government's permission in this regard and is waiting for the government response.
