Varian Medical Systems and Elekta settle patent litigation

Varian Medical Systems has announced that it has reached a confidential settlement agreement with Elekta (EKTA-B) to end ongoing patent litigation involving technology used for radiation oncology and the treatment of cancer.  Varian and Elekta resolved the multi-year disputes in the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom, including the suit brought by Elekta AB and William Beaumont Hospital, with no payments exchanged by the plaintiffs and defendants and no future financial obligations.  The two companies have been in litigation since 2015.
