Venus Remedies Ltd has received a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) approval from Botswana, a key market in Africa. The GMP has been granted for four of its facilities of oncology liquid, oncology lyophilized, dry powder cephalosporin and dry powder carbapenem.

"Botswana is a stable and steadily growing country in Africa without any pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. All drugs are imported and thus it is an opportunity for Venus Remedies to tap this opportunity with our unique and innovative products," said Dr Manu Chaudhary, director, Research, Venus Remedies Ltd.

With this accreditation, Venus possesses many International GMP certifications from European Union, Latin America, Middle East, CIS, African countries for its nine super specialty Injectable manufacturing facilities.

The major diseases that are prevalent in Botswana are AIDS, tuberculosis, mixed infections and cancer.

Botswana imports mixed medicaments for prophylactic and therapeutic uses from South Africa, India, the United States of America, Canada, Malaysia, Italy, Zimbabwe and Germany.

Venus has filed 29 dossiers for Oncology, Cephalosproin, Carbepenem and other research products in Botswana in order to alleviate these diseases from the masses. The company will start exporting the products to Botswana once the products are registered.
