Fortis Healthcare Ltd, has accepted the resignation of its Group CEO, Vishal Bali, following his desire to move on.
“Bali will remain with the company till end of March 2014, to enable a smooth transition,” Fortis informed the stock exchanges.
According to Malvinder Singh, executive chairman and Shivinder Singh, executive vice chairman, Fortis Healthcare Limited, Vishal has served the company with commitment and passion. We truly appreciate all his efforts and respect his desire to pursue newer goals. We wish him all success in his future endeavours.
“My decision to move is personal. After having spent nearly two and a half decades in the sector, which I now feel the desire to do something new and entrepreneurial in healthcare. Fortis is a high quality organisation with highly accomplished management and medical professionals in the industry. I have had a very fulfilling tenure with the company and would like to thank the Board and my colleagues at Fortis for their understanding and support in my journey,” said Vishal Bali.
Going forward, Bali’s responsibilities will be shared by Shivinder Singh, executive vice chairman and Aditya Vij, who, as CEO - India, will continue to oversee the India business.
Bali who had served at Wockhardt Hospital for 19 years was part of the landmark takeover of Fortis Healthcare deal for Rs.909 crore in 2009. He has put in four years of service at Fortis and also played a key role in the acquisition of its several hospitals globally.
