Vivekananda College to organise seminar on 'Role of pharmacists' on June 16 in Bengaluru
With the growth of healthcare sector in India, community and hospital pharmacists play a major role in this sector. To support the healthcare sector in the country, Vivekananda College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru is organising a one-day national seminar on 'Role of community and hospital pharmacists in emerging healthcare sector in India' on June 16 at Dr H L Thimmegowda auditorium.
The seminar is being conducted in collaboration with Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA)- Education Division. Dr B R Jagashetty, Drugs Controller, Karnataka state and Dr G K Narayana Reddy, president of Janta Education Society (JES), Bengaluru and former vice chancellor of Karnataka University will inaugurate the symposia.
The main objectives for conducting the seminar is: to spread importance of community pharmacists in health sector to the public, to educate participants about the opportunities in the hospital and community pharmacy, to motivate young pharmacists to become successful community and hospital pharmacists, to undersatnd the benefits of being community and hospital pharmacists and benefits of updating their knowledge about growing healthcare sector in India.
Dr Divakar Goli, secretary, IPA-Education Division, and principal of Acharya & B M Reddy College of Pharmacy,Bengaluru said, “Currently, the contribution and service of community and hospital pharmacists is neglected in the healthcare sector. So we would like to bring awareness and opportunities for community and hospital pharmacists in India's healthcare sector through this one day seminar to the upcoming young pharmacists. Well known and experienced personalities from hospital communtiy and academia are present at the symposia.”
Dr T V Narayana, vice president of IPA, Dr Divakar Goli, secretary, IPA-Edication Division, Dr D A Gundu Rao, president of KSPC, and Prof. D Narsimha Reddy, organsing secretary will also be present at the seminar. S T Narayana Gowda, vice president of JES, C N Manche Gowda, secretary of JES, N Nagaraju, treasurer of JES will mark their presence at the symposia.
Symposia can be attended by teachers, graduates, under graduates and post graduates students, research scholars of pharmaceutical institutions and practising community and hospital pharmacists.
