Wanbury records impressive growth in Q2

Wanbury Ltd has notched up impressive performance during the second quarter ended September 2007 and its net profit went up sharply to Rs 6.04 crore from Rs 3.58 crore in the corresponding period of last year, a strong growth of 68.7 per cent. Similarly, its net sales increased by 69.1 per cent to Rs 57.27 crore from Rs 33.87 crore. The company has completed the acquisition of the generic division of Industrial Farmaceutica Cantabria, S.A. Spain, through two special purpose vehicles viz., Wanbury Holdings BV and Cantabria Pharma S.L. The result includes working of both the companies.

During the quarter ended September 2007, Wanbury has allotted 2,06,674 equity shares of Rs 10 each at a premium of Rs 128.43 per share, upon conversion of 50 bonds of FCCBs.

For the first half ended September 2007, the company's net sales increased by 72.7 per cent to Rs 105.80 crore from Rs 61.26 crore in the similar period of last year. The net profit touched to Rs 11.46 crore from Rs 6.37 crore, representing a growth of 79.9 per cent. The company has utilised Rs 44 crore raised through the GDR issue in full.
