Waters has come out with a web-based dashboard software solution known as Empower 2 Business Intelligence Manager. It provides rapid analysis of critical chromatography performance data for faster decisions on laboratory and business operations.

The product is designed with business intelligence concepts and has an intuitive interface that allows lab managers and system administrators using Empower 2 Enterprise Chromatography Software to fully understand and exploit the strengths of their laboratories and identify areas that need added support.

Empower not only maximizes operation of Liquid Chromatography (LC) systems but captures critical utilization data, like s number of samples run by a chromatographic system, number of injections or methods utilized by project or chromatographic system, and chromatographic system use by personnel, said Thomas Tucker, informatics product manager, Waters Division.

Business Intelligence Manager is designed to increase efficiency and revenue through early detection of utilization trends as well as improved strategic planning and resource allocation. It will help customers optimize their LC resources to align laboratory operations with business goals for results that are most valuable to organizational success.

"In today's increasingly competitive marketplace, our customers are focusing even more on lab efficiency than any time in the recent past. Business Intelligence Manager is a powerful tool for our customers. Not only the labs can benefit from Business Intelligence Manager capabilities but our dedicated specialists are trained in helping labs interpret their Business Intelligence Manager data and developing a plan to align their LC operations," stated Tucker.

Waters Corporation has pioneered a connected portfolio of separations science, laboratory information management, mass spectrometry and thermal analysis. It has registered revenues to the tune of $1.58 billion in 2008 and has 5,000 employees.
