Wipro appoints new chief for HealthScience division

Wipro Limited, the information technology major, major announced the appointment of T K Kurien as President, Wipro HealthScience, the new business segment formed in April 2002 to address the market opportunities in healthcare and life sciences.

T K Kurien, who was the chief executive, telecom and internet service provider (TISP) vertical in Wipro Technologies, replaces D A Prasanna, who was responsible in setting up the division. Kurien brings with him a wide experience in the healthcare industry. He has worked with Wipro G E Medical Systems Limited in various capacities for over 10 years. He will report into Vivek Paul, Vice Chairman.

Prasanna the former, chief executive officer, Wipro HealthScience, has decided to pursue opportunities outside Wipro. Reliable sources inform that he is joining the Manipal Group.
