Wockhardt Hospital conducts transplant of kidney transported from Pune to Nashik in 3.5 hrs

The kidney, donated by a brain dead patient from Ruby Hall hospital in Pune, was transported to Wockhardt Hospital, Nashik in 3 hours and 30 minutes to save the life of a patient at Wockhardt Hospitals, Nashik in dire need of a transplantation. A green corridor created by the district administration and police of Nashik, Pune and Ahmednagar, helped save the life of the patient, who was in dire need of transplantation.

Timely intervention and cooperation by the concerned officials helped speed up the process of kidney transport from Pune to Nashik.

Dr Bhart Shah, center head, Wockhardt Hospitals, Nashik, said, “A kidney has to be transplanted within 18 to 22 hours of removal from the donor’s body. The green corridor created by the authorities helped ensure the kidney was successfully transplanted to our patient in time. The patient is doing fine and is recuperating well.”

Dr Nagesh Aghor, nephrology consultant, Wockhardt Hospitals, said, “Wockhardt Hospitals is well equipped to handle kidney transplantations. The need is to get a donor in time for a procedure. Such sensitive and immediate action taken by concerned authorities is extremely important in saving patients’ lives.”

Congratulations to the Wockhardt nashik team for the great work. My appreciation to Dr.Bharath Sha and the transplant team of Nashik wockhardt. Must sppreciate the services of Govt officials including the Police and dist administration.
