The city unit of the AP Urologists' Association will conduct a workshop on "Female urinary stress incontinence" on November 15. This will be part of the 13th annual conference of Genito Urinary Surgeons of AP which will be held at Kamineni Hospital on November 16 and 17.
Briefing newsmen on the programme, Dr A Ranganatha Rao, chairman of the organising committee, said about 15 operations would be performed free of cost during the session.
Stating that more than 15 % of women were suffering from urinary stress incontinence, the doctor explained that the problem was due to more deliveries as well as improper handling of childbirth. The American Medical Systems and Cook Urological from the US are sponsoring the workshop-cum-conference. The live demonstration would be useful for gynaecology and urology post-graduates, he said.
Dr Ajay, Singla, chief of female urology division, Wayne University, US, and Dr Sirish Yande, faculty from Pune, will attend the workshop. NTR Health University Vice-Chancellor Dr G Shyam Sunder, Director of Medical and Health Dr Rama Devi and Kamineni Hospitals Chairman Dr K Suryanarayana will also participate in the programme.
