World Sight Day at Hyderabad on Oct 8,9

The AP Right to Sight Society in collaboration with L V Prasad Eye Institute and Jawahar Bal Bhavan is commemorating World Sight Day on October 8 and 9, 2003 at Hyderabad. World Sight Day is an annual event held on the second Thursday of October focusing attention on the problem of global blindness. The programme will include a poster exhibition, demonstration of low vision devices and free vision screening. This event provides a unique opportunity for people to learn more about eye diseases and the treatment.

Schools are encouraged to send their children to participate in this event. Rotary International District 3150 will also be participating in this event as part of their Avoidable Blindness Program.

The Exhibition will be opened by Chaya Ratan, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Health, Medical and Family Welfare, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The Minister for Health, Medical and Family Welfare Dr. Kodela Sivaprasad Rao will inaugurate the World Sight Day function.
