Wyeth Ltd managed to improve its net profit marginally by 2.7 per cent to Rs 30.72 crore in the second quarter ended September 2006 from Rs 29.92 crore in the similar period of last year. Its net sales increased by 12.7 per cent to Rs 82.79 crore from Rs 73.48 crore. The pharmaceutical sales moved up by 3.1 per cent to Rs 73.98 crore from Rs 71.76 crore. The earning per share worked out to Rs 13.52 as against Rs 13.17 in the last period.
The net profit for the first half ended September 2006 declined by 2.4 per cent to Rs 55.95 crore from Rs 57.30 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The net sales also declined by 3.4 per cent to Rs 157.03 crore from Rs 162.53 crore. Its pharmaceutical sales declined by 7.2 per cent to Rs 139.44 crore from Rs 150.26 crore in the last period. The earning per share for the first half worked out to Rs 24.63 as compared to Rs 25.22 in the last period.
The company's net sales for the year ended March 2006 reached at Rs 287.28 crore and it earned a net profit of Rs 67.72 crore with EPS of Rs 29.80.
