Xcode Life Sciences has inked an memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sandor Proteomics and announced the launch of Lifelong Wellness, a scientific, personalized healthcare programme based on genetic decoding, in Hyderabad.

Dr Saleem Mohammed, CEO and co-founder, Xcode signed the MoU with Rajeev Sindhi, managing director, Sandor Proteomics. Under the agreement, Sandor Proteomics will play a vital role in helping Xcode to deliver the most accurate results and in an efficient manner.

Taking the route of preventive healthcare, Xcode’s first-of-its kind healthcare programme - Lifelong Wellness, will aid in identifying an individual’s predispositions to lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases and stroke, through a simple genetic assessment which is then succeeded by personalized nutrition, diet and exercise regimen to help combat the onset of deadly diseases.

Noting Hyderabad as the diabetic capital of India, a study by International Diabetes Federation (IDF) 2012 said that one in every six people above the age of 25 was affected by diabetes, and this number is likely to increase. An answer to this burden is Xcode’s genetic-based preventive healthcare program which offers lifelong wellness.

The Lifelong Wellness programme combines the power of genomics and nutrition to help combat lifestyle disorders. The programme additionally uses the latest collection of SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms) to determine an individual’s predisposition to a disease.

Dr Saleem Mohammed, said, “With the increasing health burden in Hyderabad, preventive healthcare solutions are the need of the hour. Diseases such as cardiovascular and diabetes should be given increased attention as they are a direct result of lifestyle disorders that can be attributed to lack of physical exercise and obesity. With Xcode’s Lifelong Wellness program, individuals can now understand their body and address its needs before it’s too late.”

Rajeev Sindhi said, “We are happy to join hands with Xcode and partner them in their endeavour to make a difference in the lives of the people in Hyderabad and the Indian population at large.”
