Xcode unveils 100 & Life programme aimed to guide in right eating & exercising after genetic assessment

Xcode Life Sciences, consumer health-genomics company has now launched a new programme 100 & Life. The programme that is aimed at helping the Indian population eat the right foods; do the right physical activities; feel the right way and live healthier and longer.

This four-year-old start-up specialises in genetic assessment. The 100& Life is a five-year programme that is designed to help the user transform daily lifestyle habits and achieve significant health benefits. The  programme is tailored for each individual based on genetic profile. This first-of-its-kind programme is targeted at men and women aged 25 years and above. It is priced at Rs.14,999.

Once the customer provides the saliva sample, the team at Xcode performs an advanced  genetic test to build a customised programme for the individual. A personalised fitness and nutrition regime is charted which is matched with the customer’s genetic type.

Commenting on the launch, Dr. Saleem Mohammed, chief executive  officer, and Co-founder, Xcode Life Sciences said, there is need to  bring about individualised life style changes in the population through evidence-based science, discoveries and analytics.

Xcode’s role does not end with the delivery of the test report and counselling. The company believes in partnering with the customer for the long term in ensuring maximum benefit of the programme to the customer. Towards this, the customer is assigned a health coach, who follows up with on a regular basis. Additionally, to encourage the customers towards healthy living, 100& Life uses the Gamification method through which the customers are rewarded points for activities such as reading blogs, watching videos, take quizzes, etc., on theweb portal. These reward points can be redeemed towards health merchandise at Xcode’s HealthStore .

According to  Dr. Abdur Rub, CTO, Xcode Life Sciences, the 2014 UNDP report has indicated  India’s life expectancy has increased from 58.5 years in 1990 to 66.4 years in 2013. Therefore its  quite realistic to expect that the life expectancy by 2100 could reach 100 and our aim is to help our customers achieve 100 years of healthy and youthful life.
