Zigy, India’s first health exchange, integrated with Zigy Health Vault, a patient-controlled electronic health record system has partnered with Lifespan to make diabetes accessible and affordable in India.

This tie up will help both the companies’ cross-leverage their respective strengths in diabetic product and services space to provide best-in-class diabetic care. As part of the tie-up Lifespan products will be made available on Zigy, according to a press communique.

With over 66 million diabetic patients, India has a burgeoning diabetic population, second only to China in the world. Furthermore, more than 75 million Indians are ‘at risk’ to develop the condition due to rapid urbanization, rising obesity and lifestyle changes. There is also a lack of awareness among people with 45-55 % cases undiagnosed coupled with lack of access to quality medicines.

“Diabetes management can be expensive, but there are ways to manage it well. We are working to provide affordable specialist care within the reach of the patients. Be it our accurate and reliable glucometer with lowest-cost strips or our economical long-term diabetes care plans we take every effort possible to provide full care of diabetes and cardio metabolic disorders. The partnership with Zigy will take specialist diabetes care to a new level, said Ashok Jain, CEO, Lifespan.

Striking a similar chord, Hemant Bhardwaj, CEO, MD and Co-Founder, Zigy, said that the tie up will bring us closer to our long term goal of building a Swasth Bharat.

Technologically-enabled Zigy aims to efficiently connect Indians needing health products and services with doctors, clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, diagnostic labs, and providers of wellness products and services, insurance, home-care services and alternative medicines.

Affordable diabetes care through the Lifespan - Zigy partnership will be made available in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.

I got diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes last year, and was put on Metformin. I followed the ADA diet 100% for a few weeks but it was ineffective at getting my blood sugar below 140. My Doctor was pretty ineffective as far as treatment options went (Metformin until Insulin...). Then I found the Big Diabetes Lie book - http://steamspoils.com/7-Steps-to-Health-and-The-Big-Diabetes-Lie-Review - created by Dr. Sidorov to help you figure out how to beat diabetes naturally, without being dependent on medications. Since following that protocol I've lost over 30 pounds and shaved 7 inches off my waist. I have more energy than ever, and can even work out twice on the same day when I feel like it. I hope that more people begin to open their eyes to the dead-end that is depending only on medications for Diabetes - there is a lot of success to be seen trying natural methods.
