Zuellig Pharma continued to strengthen its position as the leading healthcare services provider in Asia with the announcement of a new strategic partnership with Sanofi in Vietnam, in cooperation with local partners Phytopharma and Sapharco.
The partnership with Sanofi marks the realisation of the plan for an expanded cooperation between the largest healthcare manufacturer and the largest healthcare logistics service provider in Vietnam, reinforcing Zuellig Pharma’s strategic development as a complete healthcare solutions provider in key markets across the Asia Pacific region.
Both partners are driven by a deep commitment to, and understanding of the healthcare market in Vietnam, as evidenced by their long history and presence in the region. Sanofi has been operating in Vietnam for over fifty years and Zuellig Pharma has been operating in the country for fifteen years.
Sanofi has recently invested USD 75 million in its third manufacturing plant in Vietnam. This plant represents Sanofi’s largest investment in the market to date and it is also the most significant foreign investment in the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry.
Construction work has also started on Zuellig Pharma's largest and most sophisticated pharma-qualified warehouse, featuring state-of-the-art energy-saving initiatives. This flagship facility will ensure medicines are stored under the safest conditions possible. The investment demonstrates Zuellig Pharma’s commitment to support the current and future developments of the Vietnamese healthcare system and ultimately, the demands of Vietnamese patients.
The signing ceremony to mark the strategic partnership between Sanofi, Zuellig Pharma, Phytopharma and Sapharco was held at the Sanofi Vietnam headquarters on June 12, 2015.
