NPPA fixes retail prices of 30 formulations under DPCO 2013

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed retail prices of 30 formulations under Drugs Prices Control Order 2013 in related notification dated February 06, 2018.

Name of the said formulations are Paracetamol + Dicyclomine Tablet (Pacimol Spas), Amoxicilin Potasium Clavulanate Tablet(Clavam Forte DT), Telmisartan + Chlorthalidone Tablet (Tigatel CH40),  Cilnidipine + Telmisartan tablet (Telvacil 80mg), Metoprolol R Tablet, Paracetamol + Caffeine Tablet (Pacimol Active), Doxycyclilne + Lactic Acid Bacillus capsules, Cilnidipine + Telmisartan Tablet, Levetiracetam Tablet, Phenylephrine + Chlorpheniramine Syrup, Sumatriptan + Naproxen Tablet (NAXCOM), Cilnidipine + Telmisartan + Chlorthalidone Tablet, Telmisartan + Amlodipine + Chlorthalidone Tablet (Telpres Trio), Telmisartan + Amlodipine + Chlorthalidone Tablet (Tigatel ACH 40), Telmisartan + Amlodipine + Chlorthalidone Tablet (Tigatel ACH 80), Human Insulin Injection, Docetaxel + Polysorbate 80 + Ethanol + Citric Acid Monohydrate Injection (Docetaxel IP 120mg/3ml), Escitalopram + Clonazepam Tablet(Szetalo Plus 5), Telmisartan + Amlodipine Tablet (Telmiduce AM), Telmisartan + Hydrocholrothiazide Tablet (Telmiduce H 40), Rosuvastatin + Aspirin + Clopidogrel Capsule (Rozucor Gold 10), Amoxycillin + Clavulante Suspension, Paracetamol + Mafenamic  Suspension (Pacimol MF 125) and Etoricoxib + Paracetamol Tablet(Etomax P).

The manufacturers of above said scheduled formulations shall furnish quarterly return to the NPPA, in respect of production/import and sale of scheduled formulations in Form - III of Schedule - II of the DPCO, 2013 through IPDMS.

Any manufacturer intending to discontinue production of said scheduled formulation shall furnish information to the NPPA, in respect of discontinuation of production and/or import of scheduled formulation in Form -IV of Schedule - II of the DPCO, 2013 at least six months prior to the intended date of discontinuation.

The manufacturers not complying with the ceiling price and notes specified shall be liable to deposit the overcharged amount along with interest thereon under the provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 read with Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

Consequent to the issue of ceiling prices of such formulations as specified, the price order(s) fixing ceiling or retail price, if any, issued prior to the above said date of notification, stand(s) superseded.

Thanks NPPA for fixing the prices of the new 30 drugs. I also request the NPPA to put the overcharged prices recovered by them from the pharmaceutical industries on their website and give the name of the page out on their Menu.
