Tamil Nadu Pharmaceutical Industry and academia will be celebrating this year’s National Pharmacy Week on November 27 in Chennai. Programmes for two days have been arranged separately by the Indian Pharmacy Association Tamil Nadu chapter and Dr MGR Medical University.
This year’s theme for IPA’s celebration is “Safety first with medicine, Ask your Pharmacist”, and the venue is Hotel Days Inn Deccan Plaza. The programme will start from 9.30 onwards. IPA has invited K Allauddin, personal secretary to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to be the chief guest. Dr B Suresh, president of Pharmacy Council of India will be the guest of honour.
State drugs control director, M Bhaskaran will speak on regulatory affairs and Dr G Parthasarathy, professor and head of department of clinical pharmacy, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ootty will deliver the lecture on the theme.
IPA Tamil Nadu secretary J Jayaseelan and Treasurer Rajesh H Bhandari will speak on the occasion.
At Dr MGR University, the scientific programme will start at 10 am and general function will commence at 2 pm. The chief guest in the function, J Jayaseelan will deliver a talk on ‘Emerging opportunities for pharmaceutical industry”. Dr TK Revi, principal of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Coimbatore will preside over.
