With the acquisition of two US-based companies--LineBeyond Inc and Optech Consulting Inc---the Bangalore-based Acropetal Technologies Ltd has forayed into the specialized on-shore healthcare market. The definitive agreements are effective from April 1, 2011 and the two acquired companies  will be subsidiary of Acropetal.

While LineBeyond is valued at US$ 5 million and Optech is US$ 7 million. The cost of acquisition for Acropetal of the two companies is US$ 4.9 million each. In the case of LineBeyond, Acropetal Technologies completely bought over the company. In the case of Optech Consulting Inc, it struck a 70 per cent buyout deal.

These acquisitions will significantly expand Acropetal’s addressable market and growth potential, broadening the solutions it offers to the rapidly growing healthcare IT market. The combination will expand our offering of niche solutions to the healthcare customers. It will also strengthen our presence in the US and would help provide solutions to companies ranging from Fortune 500 enterprises to  mid-sized healthcare providers which are looking high  technology adoption, said Ravi Kumar, CMD Acropetal Technologies Ltd.

Bangalore-based Acropetal Technologies was listed on NSE and BSE early this month. The decade-old company offers comprehensive enterprise solutions to clients in Engineering Design Services, Healthcare, IT Infrastructure and Security Solutions, Product Development and Energy and Environment sectors.

California based LineBeyond provides  providing IT outsourced development services, specialized healthcare solutions and consulting services from mid-size to Fortune 500 business enterprises. Its specialized line of healthcare services includes designing and developing customized Healthcare software solutions, Consulting Services, Application Development Services and integration services for the US market.

Optech Consulting, headquartered in Texas, offers enterprise solutions, security solutions, IT Infrastructure Management, web development, outsourced development and consulting services. Specific to the  healthcare vertical products are for small and midsize hospitals and medical storage and communication solutions.
