AIPGMEE to be held online from November 25 to December 6, 2013

All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Exams (AIPGMEE) for PG admissions for the academic year 2014 will be held online from November 25 to December 6, 2013.

Subsequent to the Supreme Court of India’s approval on the engagement of the National Board of Examinations (NBE) and schedule for the examination, the AIPGMEE 2014 will be held as a computer-based test by NBE from November 25 to December 6, at 70 Prometric Test Centres in 38 cities in the country.

NBE will conduct All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examinations (AIPGMEE) online for admission to all India 50 per cent quota of MD/MS/PG Diploma courses offered at Government Medical Colleges/Institutions, except the states of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

The State Governments of Haryana, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and University of Delhi shall utilize the results of AIPGMEE 2014 for admission to MD/MS/ PG Diploma courses at colleges under their control. These states shall not be conducting any state entrance examination of their own. Admission to MD/MS/ PG Diploma courses at institutes under Armed Forces Medical Services shall also be made on the basis of results of AIPGMEE 2014.

Dr Bipin Batra, executive director of NBE, stated, “The examination shall be of three hours and 30 minutes duration. In addition, 15 minutes of test tutorial time will be given and the test comprises 300 MCQs (multiple choice questions) that are spread across different subjects of the MBBS curriculum, and there shall be no negative marking. Registration for the test shall be online and pre-paid test fee vouchers shall be available at 279 branches of Axis Bank across the country with effect from October 24, 2013. Registration and Scheduling for the test can be undertaken online with effect from October 26, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. Onwards.”
