AP govt signs MoU with NephroPlus to set up dialysis centres at all 13 district hospitals
Andhra Pradesh government had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nephroplus, a leading dialysis service provider, to set up dialysis centres at all the 13 district government hospitals in the state.
The signing of the MoU is part of the state government’s initiative to upgrade and improve healthcare facilities to poor patients in the government hospitals. With this initiative, the state government hospitals will be able to offer dialysis services to the poor kidney patients.
According to the agreement, NephroPlus will equip the dialysis units at each district government hospitals with world-class facilities and appoint experienced professionals to deliver the services.
Managed by NephroPlus, the dialysis centres will provide haemodialysis using Japanese technology. They will follow NephroPlus’ proprietary clinical protocols which will help prevent cross infections that have been rampant in sub-standard dialysis centres.
“In India, majority population is suffering from various kidney ailments. Access to quality dialysis is still a major cause of concern in our country. In fact, a third of people who are on haemodialysis eventually get infected with a chronic viral disease and succumb to fatalities. We are glad the AP government has come forward to address the situation,” said Vikram Vuppala, CEO & founder, NephroPlus. The initiative will encourage the public to seek quality and affordable dialysis services, he added.
Apart from offering quality treatment, NephroPlus also motivates patients to lead a normal life through initiatives like support group meetings, free dietitian support and various other events. “These programs provide patients a platform to share their experiences, overcome their inhibitions and boost their confidence in life,” the company said. The dialysis chain is planning to raise Rs.100 crore for the expansion of its network. At present, the company operates 75 centres across 15 states.
