APDCA embarks to digital mode for issuing licences, WHO GMP certificates
The Andhra Pradesh Drug Control Administration (APDCA) has launched its much awaited new website on Tuesday at its headquarters in Hyderabad. With the launch of this new website, the state DCA has embarked to take its administrative services to the next level of digital mode. The website was launched by Ajay Sawhney, principal secretary of Health Medical and Family Welfare Department.
While speaking at the launch, Dr B L Meena, director general, APDCA, said, “This is a great day for us, after a long wait we could ultimately launch this website. With this the DCA will now embark on digital mode for issuing drug sales licenses, WHO GMP certificates and other client services at a faster, easier and in a time frame manner. This new website will ensure transparency, accountability on the part of DCA officials as it has been developed to monitor and check the movement of files on day to day basis.”
The new website has a sober look with an innovative live logo and it has been designed comprehensively with foolproof security system. Some of the basic features of the website have been sourced from Gujarat FDCA website and it has been augmented with some more advanced additional features overcoming the bottlenecks and security hurdles.
DRUVA (Drug Regulatory Usage Via Automation) is another important software module incorporated in the website. This tab will enable the candidates to have access to online licensing system. Using this tab, the aspiring medical store owners who wish to secure drugs sales license from DCA can now directly submit online applications at www.dca.ap.nic.in along with all required documents and can avail digitally signed license copies within a week time.
Apart from providing online licensing system, the new website also has various other features and services. Along with the genesis of the department and its organisational set up, the website also provides lists of number of blood banks and medical stores along with their addresses and contact numbers across the state. It also incorporates information relating to banned drugs, prices of notified drugs, not of quality standard drugs and information relating to hospitals and number of Jeevandhara generic drugs stores in the state. Citizen’s charter, right to information act and feedback from the clients is also some of the important features provided by the website.
