APPC ex-president asks AP, TS govts to restore elected council to facilitate bifurcation of APPC
Former Andhra Pradesh Pharmacy council (APPC) president Vijay Annappa Reddy has urged the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments to restore the elected body of the council as of March 31, 2011 and help initiate early actions to facilitate easy bifurcation of the pharmacy council in a systematic way through a resolution.
In this regard, Reddy has written letters to Governor E.S.L. Narashiman, and Chief Ministers of both Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana State (TS) mentioning irregularities by acting registrar Pola Nagaraju and a few officials in the drug control administration.
It is also learnt that a few people claiming to be leaders of unregistered and fake trade associations are deliberately posing as unofficial representatives of APPC and they are making public statements about unauthorised registrations and renewal drives in private hotels and lodges in various places of both AP and TS without any official consent or designated information sent to any of pharmacy council members or the government.
“A few people claiming to be leaders of unregistered and fake trade associations are making irresponsible statements creating confusion among the pharmacy graduates and council members amounting to violation of Pharmacy Act. Moreover, the registrar has failed to follow the procedures of the council and violated many aspects of pharmacy act without conducting the mandatory meetings of the council members. He had also restricted the council members for verification of records under fundamental provisions of the Pharmacy Act and arrogantly implemented self-made rules that are against the provisions of the Council,” noted Reddy in his letter to the governor.
Reddy has also urged the government to bring open the earlier inquiry reports conducted against him, as they are all fabricated and false. “Earlier inquiries conducted against me are all false and fabricated. Their inquiry reports have no substance or valid data in them to frame charges against me. They never called me or took my opinion or views with regard to my irregularities. At least this time I request the government to include me as subject matter of mandatory witness as member of APPC,” added Reddy.
According to Reddy, the registrar along with fake trade associations and few drug control administration officials are playing a high level game to avoid restoration of the council and delay the bifurcation of the APPC into TS and AP Pharmacy councils.
