Ayush dept seeks suggestions from members to promote export of traditional medicines to Canada
The Department of Ayush, government of India, has sought inputs from manufacturers and exporters of traditional medicines regarding exports related regulations or any other related trade issues that are coming in the way of exports to Canada.
In a communication to Pharmexcil, the department of Ayush under the ministry of health and family welfare has informed all the stakeholders of traditional medicine to provide their views and suggestions and complaints if any so that it will put forth the same with the Canadian government and seek possible exemptions or reach at an amicable solutions which would help improve the Ayush export to Canada.
Canada is one of the countries having regulations for natural health products and traditional medicine. In this regard, the department of Ayush is preparing the ground to address problems being faced by the exporters of traditional and natural medicines and is looking forward to promote Ayush systems to Canada.
Taking forward these issues, the department of Ayush is planning to take a delegation to Canada in September 2012 to take up the issues with Canadian government. Apart from pushing the trade related issues, the delegation is also planning to promote India’s traditional products to the Canadian markets which would enable to boost the future trade with that country.
The department of Ayush would appreciate your inputs about difficulties that ASU&H industry might be facing in exporting ASU&H products to Canada. In view of this, all members of ASU&H pharmaceutical companies are requested to send in their short write-ups about the export of Ayush products in terms of types of products, business turnover, bottlenecks with regulators etc and important issues/problems and suggestions if any to the government through concerned authorities at Pharmexcil, the department said.
The members are expected to give clear information pertaining to problems regarding Tariff & Non Tariff Barriers while exporting to Canada. They can also give inputs relating to any prevailing issues regarding Drug Registration/Regulatory issues with the Canadian government or with the regulatory authorities of Canada.
On the whole, the members can freely air their views on general issues and can also give their suggestions for improving exports to Canada. Members dealing with Herbal and Ayush products may also send their issues and suggestion to ayush@pharmexcil.com.
