The director of Tamil Nadu drugs control department, S Abdul Khader, and deputy director of the department, K Sivabalan will be the guests of honour, said A Kannan, chairman of the high power committee of CIPMMA.
Regarding queries on the development of the organisation and its contribution to the pharma marketing community, Kannan said, “the Consortium conducts district wise business development programmes covering scientific sessions, man power management, leadership development etc for its members. Further, we motivate our members by imparting knowledge about FDCs, DPCO and D&C Acts and Rules and their latest amendments. Besides, we educate our members to have code of ethics, provide them with market potentiality for latest products and the profit margins”.
According to Joseph Martin, general secretary of CIPMMA, this AGM will coordinate a special committee to form branches of the organisation in the neighboring states. Representatives from Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are expected this year’s conference. He said the two days conference will be attended by 250 registered delegates, nominated by district committees from across Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
This year the association will once again go through all the resolutions it had passed in previous years as none of them has been considered favorably either by the state government or by the central government. The leading resolution will be on issuance of separate licence for pharma marketers. CIPMMA will once again demand to the union government and subsequently to the state government to bring a rule to introduce separate licensing system for the marketing companies of pharmaceutical products.
The former chairman of CIPMMA, Karunai Kadal will present his earlier resolution demanding fixing of ceiling price for raw materials required for the products coming under DPCO 2013. The conference will elect new office-bearers for the next term, 2016-18.
