Consul General of Turkey visits Maha FDA office, explores exchange of technical knowledge
Consul General of Republic of Turkey Erdal Sabri along with his Commercial official Salih Unver visited Maharashtra State Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Mumbai to explore the possibilities for technical collaborations with the pharmaceutical industry in the state.
During the course of the visit Dr. Harshadeep Kamble briefed Erdal Sabri about the organizational structure of FDA Maharashtra and also narrated about the vision of Chief Minister Devendra Fadanavis of delivering his services with transparency and speed. In this regard, he apprised about different initiatives taken towards fulfillment of policy of government of Maharashtra on ease of doing business.
FDA Commissioner briefed about the practices followed by Food and Drug Wing in assuring availability of food and drug products in the state.
Dr. Kamble further said that in addition to the survey sampling and inspections for monitoring of quality of food and drugs in the state of Maharashtra FDA, he has taken various initiatives including the technology adoption in terms of online issuance of licenses, registrations and certification to the stakeholders, empowering the laboratories with high end equipments for quality assurance.
The Union health ministry and state health department have set aside Rs. 137 crore to strengthen the drug regulatory system in Maharashtra by expanding the only Food and Drugs Administration laboratory in Mumbai and building three more at Nashik, Nagpur and Pune.
Consul General of Republic of Turkey was impressed about the steps taken by FDA for creating conducive environment for delivering services through computerization. He said that this step is a big leap towards implementing the policy of ease of doing business of government of Maharashtra.
He further said that he is looking forward for exchange of technical
knowledge between India and Turkey. Meanwhile, Commissioner FDA
also narrated the advantages of different destinations in Maharashtra State for investment and assured about extending necessary cooperation in this regard.
