In a bid to diversify its array of services to cater to needs of medicos and medical device manufacturing units, Curofy, a leading mobile based networking platform for practising doctors, has launched Medical Device Marketplace on its digital platform.

The medical device marketplace platform connecting medical device manufacturers/distributors with prospective buyers (doctors) has been launched by Curofy at Medicall 2016, India's premier B2B medical equipment show to be held in Chennai from July 22-24. With the launch of platform at Medicall, Curofy hoped to make early inroads in the industry.

The medical device marketplace, called as 'Curofy for devices' allows medical device distributors and manufacturers to connect directly with the doctors and fulfill orders. The process is very easy to comprehend. The doctors can send queries via Curofy mobile app, the distributors can then bid for the query. The doctors can accept or reject the bid as per their choice. On acceptance of a bid, the seller is charged a nominal amount for the successful lead, and the contact details of the user are forwarded to the seller, said Mudit Vijayvergiya, co-founder, Curofy.

The platform is a boon for the doctors in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. This is Curofy's second web product besides their recruitment platform that was launched a few days ago.

With this, Curofy is moving one step ahead to engage directly with the industry and is very much in line with the mission of making lives of the doctors easier and more efficient. It is indeed true that healthcare delivery today, is still geographically biased with the metros and tier 1 cities taking the majority of the share. There is not only dearth in the number of trained personnel but also the absence of modern facilities has put a huge dent in the healthcare system in the smaller towns and rural areas. Hence this new platform, Curofy has launched, will help equip rural healthcare facilities with modern equipments.

"Think of a day when you can get the best treatment at the Sonipats, the Shamlis and the Midnapores of the country," says Pawan Gupta, co-founder of Curofy. If Curofy can achieve what they are promising, they can truly disrupt the healthcare space in the country. And who knows, maybe even worldwide.

Curofy gets almost 700 signups every day and almost 250 case discussions which translates to 1 doctor signing up every 2 minutes on its mobile app each day. More than 1,00,000 doctors are currently registered on the app spending 30,00,000 minutes every month. Curofy aims to register 3 lakh doctors on its platform by 2018.
