The 3-day API Interphex & PharmaChina exhibition ended here at Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province in mid-eastern China on a positive note. More than 3000 exhibitors participated at the event attracting a substantial visitor population.
The event held between April 25 and 27, 2012 created an environment for collaboration between the Republic of China and the world.
The expo organised at Hefei, the most potential city of China which is the hub for electric-electronic device and automobile production, proved that the API, Interphex and PharmChina expos are the largest attended trade expos for the Republic.
The exhibition which spanned over an area of 100,000 sq. m with 1300 exhibitors for API and Interphex china and another 1700 participants for the PharmChina from 40 countries.
The three events are thriving to explore the future for the industry. The platform has provided the pharma industry to join up a chain in terms of segmentation in the exhibiting zone. The Sino-Indo Partnership Programme (SIPP) launched this year is built as a bridge for cooperation between domestic and global buyers. Further the exposition has given an insight to update regulation, marketing information and display innovation in design and manufacture.
“The key reason for us to opt for Hefei to organise the trio event is that it is ranked as the 15 best cities for investment by the Republic of China providing entrepreneurs with the lowest cost of setting up businesses for entrepreneurs,” said Wong Wei Ming, deputy secretary general, Muncipal Government of Hefei.
Yong Kuang, vice president, Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions said, “There are considerable efforts to increase the opportunities for growth in the Tier II cities in the Republic of China. This is not just to create the right environment for industrial development and also provide employment opportunities. But now we need to take API China to an international platform where we will invite global companies in our country and provide buyers from our local market to participate in this event abroad.”
Infact, Hefei has made friendly relations with more than 12 cities in the US and European Union. It is now looking to expand its ties across Asia and Asia Pacific region. There are over 3,000 companies including Fortune 500 enterprises from across the globe already doing business in China.
“The pharma industry is one among the important sectors for growth and we are looking for investments and strengthening trade relations. We are here to provide companies more convenience in investment,” said the deputy secretary general Municipal Government of Hefei.
While the industry participants representing large and medium enterprises in China said that closer alliances ensuing from such trade fairs would be the way forward. According to a section of the visitors the exposure from this year’s API Spring was limited this year.
