DCGI constitutes committee to simplify various Forms, Formats to minimum possible level
As part of the Central government governance reforms programme, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) will soon simplify the various Forms and Formats to minimum possible level for the benefit of the stakeholders.
According to sources, the Drugs Controller general of India (DCGI) has constituted an expert committee to identify the Forms of Applications as well as licences under Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 which could be simplified as far as possible to minimum details or omitted.
Sources said that the new central government under Narendra Modi has directed to the each department that there is need for governance reforms. In view of this, all the government departments have been asked to identify the Forms which are required to be filled by the applicants for availing services provided by the concerned ministry or department and simplify them as far as possible.
It is under this direction that the CDSCO has constituted an expert committee. The committee will examine and recommend various changes which may be required to be made under Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945 to simplify the Forms and Formats or reduce the number of Forms in vogue as far as possible to the minimum necessary details.
The committee has been asked to submit its reports within two months from the date of the first meeting of the committee.
The DCGI office has asked the industry associations and others to submit their suggestions, if any, on this matter before November 28.
