Even as the small scale pharma units are demanding to remove the unfriendly clauses from the Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (CLCSS), the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) has asked the industry to provide the list of equipments that can be included for providing assistance under the scheme for upgrading their units as per the Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) which has become mandatory from November 1 last year.

According to sources, the DoP has written to various industry associations asking them to provide a list of equipments that can be included for assistance under the CLCSS scheme which was extended to the GLP on industry's demand.

Sources said that the industry has submitted a long list of around 100 equipments for which the industry needs assistance from the government for upgrading their units as per the GLP norms.

These included equipment for Chemical testing lab like Fume hoods, Chemical storage racks, Pipettes, Burrettes, Volumetric Flasks, Cylinders, washing equipments, Sonification bath, Dissolution Test apparatus, pH Meters, Water baths, Centrifuges, Drying Ovens, Vortex shakers, Magnetic stirrers,  Conductivity meters, Hot plates, Muffle furnaces, Vacuum Ovens, Glass ware distillation apparatus, Kjeldahl’s apparatus, Reflects condensing apparatus, Heavy metal test apparatus, TLC Development Chambers, TLC plate readers, Flame Photometers, Sucrometers, Disintegration test apparatus/machine, Friability test apparatus/machine and Hardness test apparatus/machine.

Besides, the industry has asked the government to provide assistance for equipment for Instrument lab like FTIR (Fortifier Infrared Spectrophotometer) with computer and software, Gas Chromatography with computer and software, Total Oxidisable Carbon Determination testing equipment with computer and software printer,  HPLC (Hi-pressure Liquid Chromatograph) with UV detector with computer and software etc,  HPLC (Hi-pressure Liquid Chromatograph) with electrochemical detector with computer and software etc, HPLC (Hi-pressure Liquid Chromatography) with Biochemical detector with computer and software etc, Optical rotation test apparatus with computer and software, Titrometers - PLC controller with printer and Bulk density apparatus.

Besides, the industry needs assistance for equipment for microbiological lab such as Endotoxin test Kit, Regeneration of tubes incubators, Autoclaves, Refrigerator, Pass Boxes, Colony counters, Microscopes with colony counter and particulate matters with computer and software and printer, Sterility Test Equipment, Petri dishes, Cylinders, Pipettes and Micro pippettes, Airborne particle counters, Laminar flow benches, Laminar flow Testing meters, BOD Incubators and Stains.

The industry also needed assistance for upgrading the equipment for Accelerated Time Study like BOD incubators and Sun test accelerated time study apparatus.
