As part of its plan to expand its chain of hospitals in India, the Dubai-based Thumbay group has launched its second hospital ‘New Life’ at Jubilee Hills with a cost of Rs.30 crore. Already, the group had launched its first hospital at Chaderghat last year and now the healthcare group is embarking to further expand its chain of hospitals across the country in the next 4-5 years.
“Our aim is to expand in India and provide global standard medical services to the people. Though we have started our operations last year, we could expand our services full-fledged only this year. We have added specialty services in cardiology, critical care medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, Neurology, neuro surgery, pulmonology, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics, paediatrics and radiology,” said Thumbay Moideen, founder president of Thumbay Group UAE.
Mahmood Ali, Deputy Chief Minister, of Telangana and Health Minister Dr. C. Laxma Reddy inaugurated the hospital and said that the newly formed state of Telangana requires many more such state-of-art high quality medical services to serve the people. “We would like to encourage and support such global healthcare players to offer high quality medical services to the people of Telangana,” said Dr. C. Laxma Reddy.
The Thumbay Hospital group is planning to add over 1,500 beds in the next 4 to 5 years through its proposed ventures in Hyderabad, Karnataka and Maharashtra. “Our aim is to bring high end tertiary care medical services within reach of all, yet affordable,” said Akbar Moideen Thumbay, vice president, healthcare division of the group.
