Experts to talk on different perspectives on ‘Pharma Vision-2030, Planning the Future' in scientific seminars at IPA convention
The two-day scientific seminar on, ‘Pharma Vision-2030, Planning the Future’ to be organized as part of the 7th National Convention of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) will become a platform for experts to approach the theme on different perspectives as it will see participation from academia, regulatory, industry, marketing, medical devices industry, R&D, clinical research and on-line pharmacy.
The event, which is slated for February 10 and 11 at Crescent University at Vandalur in Chennai, will comprise six scientific sessions in which twenty experts from different areas of pharmaceutical sector will take part.
On Saturday, February 10, after the inaugural session, Dr. B. Suresh, president of Pharmacy Council of India and one of the chief patrons of the event will talk on the theme at 11.30. Followed by him, Dr. T.V. Narayana, chairman of academic division of the IPA, will deliver on educational perspectives as concerns the theme. Post lunch session will be chaired by SV Veeramani, CMD of Fourrts Laboratories, and Annasamy Vaidesh will speak on the global perspectives with regard to the theme. There will be talk on SMEs by Thushar A Khorday, and on Future of Pharma Marketing by Rajiv Gulati, in the same session.
Post tea-break session will start with a talk by Dr. Eshwar Reddy on Advances in Medical Devices to fulfill the pharma vision, followed by a talk on ‘perspectives on clinical trial’ by Dr. Bengaru Rajan. Dr. Somani will deliver on potentials of export and import of pharmaceuticals in the same session. Dr. Venkitaramanan will present the paper on ‘Future of Pharmaceutical Pricing’ and Dr. RK Sanghivi will talk on ‘Growth of Neutraceuticals’.
The education session will start at 5 o’ clock in the evening and Dr. George Patani, Dr. Shailendra Sarf and Dr. Vijay Sagar will speak on various areas in pharmacy teaching.
On the second day, the first session will commence with the talk on ‘professionalism in clinical interventions’ by Dr. Sri Ram, followed by a talk on ‘pharmacists in clinical trials’ by Dr. Ganachari. The second session will start with a talk by Dr. Gopakumar Nair on ‘Future of Patents in accordance with Pharma Vision’. Dr. Shailesh Patel will speak on ‘Digital Healthcare and New age pharmacies’. After teak-break, Dr. Srini Srinivasan will present a paper on ‘Future of R&D in Pharma’. Dr. Suresh Kumar will speak on ‘Precision Pharmacy’ and J Jayaseelan will hold the concluding remarks on the theme.
There will be participation of all state branches of the IPA, selected students and teachers of pharmacy colleges from other states and full participation from all institutions in Tamil Nadu in the two days programme.
