FIP's 71st World Congress to be held at Hyderabad from September 3 to 8

FIP (International Pharmaceutical Federation), the global federation of national associations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists is organizing the 71st FIP World Congress jointly with Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) from September 3-8, 2011, in Hyderabad at Hyderabad International convention Centre, Novotel, near Hi-tech city.

The Congress will explore problems faced by users in terms of quality of medicines, improving the safety standards of essential drugs and the consequences of poor quality on clinical outcomes and costs. Apart from top quality programmes, current and future status of pharmacy education, science and practice throughout the supply chain and much more would be discussed in the five-day event.

The event will be inaugurated by President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Patil. Among others, top bureaucrats, scientists and many prominent personalities will participate in the opening ceremony. It is expected that dignitaries and renowned personalities of the pharma sector from across the globe will take part in the 5 day event. The event will also provide a platform to network and connect with pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists.

The main focus of the Congress will be on the latest trends highlighting innovative and interesting topics of contemporary pharmaceuticals in the world today. Topics will be discussed under the main theme of Compromising quality and safety – a risky path.

Participants can engage themselves in issues relating to quality medicines, safe medicines and increasing both the safety and cost-effectiveness of services.
