Very soon the ENT patients from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana can avail the services of doctors at a super specialty hospital exclusively meant for the diseases of ear, nose and throat in Hyderabad.

According to Dr GVS Rao, a renowned ENT surgeon and otologist, till date there is no super specialty hospital dedicated to ENT problems in both the states. Keeping this in mind Dr. GVS Rao has decided to set up a super specialty ENT hospital very soon in Hyderabad.

“The new ENT super specialty hospital at ESI will have a capacity of 100 beds and will be built over area of 47,000 square feet. It will consist of 7 OPD units, 3 modular OTs with laminar air flow, fully equipped audiometric, vestibular diagnostic and rehabilitation units. In house sleep labs for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea patients along with dedicated ENT training centre etc,” informed Dr DVS Rao.

The ENT expert has to his credit many records, rewards and awards for his dedicated medical services to the poor for free of cost. Dr. GVS Rao, a known surgeon and otologist had received one more award ‘Ugadi Puruskarma’ from the hands of Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Chandra Babu Naidu for his record fete of performing 20 successful ‘micro ear surgeries’ in less than 12 hours.

Dr. Rao has already recorded his name in the Limca Book of Records for his fete earlier and now the government of Andhra Pradesh has recognised his services in the field of medicine for giving free service to the poor people.

The ENT surgeon also runs a super specialty hospital dedicated to provide exclusive service to patients with ailments related to ear, nose and sinus surgeries (FESS). phonosurgery, snoring, rhinoplasty, facial plastic surgery, head and neck surgeries are also performed in the hospital. In addition, Dr. Rao is an expert in micro ear surgeries and treating various ailments related to ENT.

Dr. Rao is also credited with several achievements that include conducting a surgery for an oldest patient aged 95 years in order to rectify sinusitis problem. Further he also achieved a rare feat by conducting a micro ear surgery on a youngest patient who is just 16 months old, displaying a rare skill of successfully conducting extraordinary surgery on a three-day girl child to rectify an infection and bleeding problem in the ear and nose. He  displayed a rare skill of successfully conducting extraordinary surgeries on oldest as well as youngest patients, which are normally considered high risk and avoiding by most of the specialist doctors.
