GPMA and IMA Ponda Charitable Trust to organise medical camp for contractual employees
The Goa Pharmaceutical Manufacturers' Association (GPMA) and Indian Medical Association (IMA) Ponda Charitable Trust have come together for conducting a medical camp for the benefit of contractual employees in the premises of BlueCross Laboratories in Verna, Goa on February 1, 2015 from 9 am to 1pm.
The camp will be inaugurated by Ganesh Gaonkar, chairman, Industrial Design Centre (IDC). The camp will primarily focus on diabetes, hypertension and blood group detection and advise employees for necessary medical attention along with initial medication.
Suresh Kamath, president, GPMA said that the purpose of this medical camp is to provide medical aid to the contractual employees especially in areas of housekeeping, gardening, security services, etc. working in different units located in Verna industrial area, who does not get proper medical help.
Kamath informed that approximately 250 people will be attending the camp. First round will be a complete medical check-up and later on medication will be provided for diabetes and hypertension.
Dr. Vallabh Dhiamodkar, president, IMA Ponda Charitable Trust will support by providing the requisite number of doctors and paramedical staff for the camp. 10 -12 doctors will be available at different fields and necessary medical attention and medical advise will be given by them.
The GPMA, representing the generic pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Goa, is also planning another medical camp in North Goa probably in the month of February or March.
The Association also helps foster better relations between economies of various countries and Goa and help provide a single point source of information and assistance to set up manufacturing capabilities in the state.
