InClinition inks JV with MedFocus, to tap outsourcing jobs in medical writing, regulatory services
InClinition, a pharmaceutical and clinical research service provider, has entered into a joint venture for clinical research outsourcing with MedFocus at Bucharest in Romania.
This joint venture is a collaborative agreement between two companies and has no financial commitments. The collaboration is related to services such as medical writing, regulatory and publication services.
Although clinical research market in India is on a low due to regulatory hurdles and changes in regulations of Ethics Committees, there is always great hope for improvement in this situation. But market for data management, regulatory and medical writing is still on an upward trend. Despite the economic slow down in India, sponsors in the European Union and US would seem to prefer India to tap the dependable, affordable and high quality services, Avinash Deodhar, director, InClinition told Pharmabiz in an email interaction.
“Our joint venture company MedFocus will do clinical studies of phase II to IV in Romania and Europe. Of these, we will only do the services of regulatory, medical writing, translations, and publication services. This agreement will help InClinition to expand its service portfolio across European market and to expand spectrum of services offered by both companies. Apart from this, if any Indian sponsor wishes to conduct studies in Romania, we can guide them to our ventured partner MedFocus CRO,” he added.
It was in August 2011, the company began offering medical writing, regulatory and publication services and the company is not engaged in full scale clinical trial studies. This venture will benefit MedFocus CRO to have more clinical studies in Romania and across Europe. Apart from this, MedFocus will get expertise of regulatory, medical affairs services offered by InClinition. InClinition will have opportunity to get more number of contracts from European sponsors.
“Our joint venture will allow both companies to build upon existing core capabilities and our respective areas of expertise to address the needs of market than ever before,” said Octavian Marinescu, managing director, MedFocus CRO.
