Indegene and Team Computers, a major enterprise IT solution provider and Apple Inc’s authorized reseller in India, have joined hands to offer the pharma industry with Enterprise Mobility Solutions which is seen as a trend for effective marketing of medicines.

As pharmaceutical marketing continues to transform, consumers and stakeholders have changed the way they create and assimilate information. For instance, a recent study by Manhattan Research suggests that Physicians interacting with medical reps using iPads are 35 per cent more likely to request a sample and 29 per cent of physicians surveyed are more likely to prescribe the drug. Another study estimated that remote training could save a company approximately US$ 1000 annually per representative, and with an enterprise solution, the saving could be significantly higher.

According to Manish Gupta, CEO, Indegene Lifesystems the new enterprise mobility framework allows clients to assess and deploy mobility solutions intelligently across multiple brands and teams. He expects this approach to be transformational in areas such as detailing, CLM, sales force training, and physician and patient engagement.

In this regard, there was an exclusive executive briefing for senior pharma leaders on ‘Driving Efficiency and Effectiveness with Enterprise Mobility’.

Major advantages of enterprise mobility solutions are in sales force effectiveness (SFE), detailing, and patient/physician education. The iPads and the customized delivery of interactive content, transforms the way companies engage with its stakeholders. In the current scenario, there is need to implement scores of disparate applications and redundant information across multiple platforms, users, and brands. This is not a feasible long-term strategy. Instead, deploying mobility solutions that are designed with enterprise benefits, and can be intuitively adapted to several brands and teams is more important. There is need to integrate alternative channels and mobile-based apps must look to include given the overall adoption of smart phones and tablets. “We are now looking to bridge business needs to offer a complete enterprise mobility solution for companies. These include applications powered by Indegene and the best available device in the form of iPads and analytics for pharma through Qlikview which helps to offer all this with pan-India service,” said Mahesh Tomar, director, Team Computers.
