India-US Business Alliance to scout for potential alliances with pharma, clinical research cos
The India-US Business Alliance (IUSBA), a Cincinnati-based non-profit organization is keen to look at India as part of its emerging market entry strategy. For this, it is looking forward to alliances with not just companies but also industry bodies like the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI).
“The key objective is to establish a professional platform for businesses, government agencies, investment firms, services providers, academic institutions and individuals with an interest in promoting and growing business alliances between the US and India,” stated Dr Nirupa Bareja, member, Advisory Board of the IndoUS Business Alliance.
“The month old IUSBA has aggressive plans to further strengthen the Indo US business initiatives. This will include tie ups and develop strategies in the pharma and clinical research space. In this regard a delegation of top level officials will be visiting India and Bangalore in mid-November, 2010,” she added.
The aim of the IUSBA is to scout for commercial partnerships and foster business transactions between companies in India and the US. It will facilitate trade and investment transactions between the US and India by connecting firms through various programs and resources. These programs include, not limited to trade missions, business partner searches, dissemination of business opportunities, referral services like consulting, service providers and legal. In addition, the IUSBA will also hold networking events with business and government officials and conduct video conferences, educational seminars and webinars.
The organization’s offerings enable it to be a public resource not only in the Tri-State area of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, but also in several other mid-western states. To date the IUSBA has partnered with the United States and Foreign Commercial Service (US Commercial Service), the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, BioOhio, the Edison Material and Technology Center of Ohio (EMTEC), the European-American Chamber of Commerce (EACC), the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce (GCCCC), and is expecting to partner with more government and non-profit agencies, and Chambers of Commerce.
